Nature's Schoolhouse
Outdoor Nature Science School
Every Friday, from early September through the end of May, our entire student body meets at Twin Lakes Park and Brushy Creek Trail in Cedar Park, where we immerse our learners in nature studies, forest school, and unstructured free play from 9:00am - 3:30pm.
This program is broken up into 6 sessions that run from early September through mid May. Each session lasts 4-5 weeks and focuses on a specific branch of science (ex: Anthropology, Hydrology, Biology, etc). In addition to immersing our learners in these different types of science, we also enjoy hiking, visiting the waterfall, doing yoga under the trees, playing in and around the lakes and creeks, forest bathing, fishing, playing kickball at the sports fields, doing arts and crafts, free playing on the playscapes, and learning all about the world around us while we're at the park.
*We intend to offer this as a standalone enrichment program for our local homeschool community starting in the Fall of 2023!*
