Fridays in the Park

Fridays in the Park Interest Form

On select Fridays, from early September through mid May, we invite our entire student body and learners from our local homeschool community to meet us at Twin Lakes Park and Brushy Creek Trail in Cedar Park, where we immerse our learners in nature studies, forest school, and unstructured free play from 9:00am - 3:30pm.

This program is broken up into 6 sessions that run from early September through mid May (27 Fridays, total). Each session focuses on a specific branch of science (ex: Anthropology, Hydrology, Biology, etc). In addition to immersing our learners in these different types of science, we also facilitate Character Development, to emphasize the importance of being a kind, caring human being and authentically instill trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship into each learner. Our days start and end with specials such as Art, PE, Music, Movement, etc.

Throughout the year, our learners will experience:

  • Daily hikes

  • Yoga under the trees

  • Nature arts & crafts

  • Fort building

  • Lake, creek, and waterfall exploration

  • Forest bathing

  • Playing kickball at the sports fields

  • Free playing on the playscapes

  • And much, much more!

Sample Daily Rhythm:

  • (9:30a) Arrival, Morning Snack, & Free Play

  • (10:00) Morning Meeting/Circle & Discussion

  • (10:30) Character Development

  • (11:15) Arts and Crafts Activity

The cost of this program on its own is $2100 per school year. There is a $300 deposit due upon application. The remaining tuition is due in full on September 1st, or $200/mo from September - May.

This is a drop off program, but parents who would like to stay and help out are always welcome to join us! Please note that a background check will be required for anyone who works directly with students.
