Job Title: Early Elementary Educator

Compensation: $35k per school year + benefits

Start Date: August 22, 2023

Schedule: M-F 9:00am-5:30pm

Location: Nature's Schoolhouse main campus (M-Th) and Twin Lakes Park/Brushy Creek Trail (Fridays)

About us:

Nature’s Schoolhouse is an intentionally small microschool, serving children in grades PK-6. Our campus sits on a little over an acre in the heart of Cedar Park's Bell District, just north of Austin, TX. We are an innovative and nature-focused full-scope Elementary School seeking a passionate and experienced Early Elementary Educator to join our team in providing an enriching and holistic learning experience for our youngest class, which includes children aged 4-7 years old.

 

​Job Goal:

Candidate will be responsible for leading our mixed-age Early Elementary class, which includes learners in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade. Candidate is also tasked with contributing to the educational, social, and physical development of students. This position requires creativity and adaptive thinking, and a loving and energetic personality. This position offers an incredible opportunity to make a positive impact in children's lives by helping them develop a deep, lifelong connection to nature and a love of learning

 

Job Description:

  • Develop and implement engaging lessons, using both school-provided curriculum materials and your own resources, that promote academic, social, and emotional growth of early elementary students.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for learning, creativity, and critical thinking skills.

  • Plan and deliver differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including individualized support and enrichment opportunities.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and families.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to enhance student learning and engagement.

  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and collaborate with other teachers and staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

  • Provide supervision of students during lunch and recess activities and during before and after school activities. In addition, the Early Elementary Educator will help to provide ample supervision of all students every Friday during our days at Twin Lakes Park.

​Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Education or a related field -OR- a minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Early Elementary Educator or in a related role.

  • Strong knowledge of early elementary curriculum, instructional strategies, and best practices in student assessment and feedback.

  • Passion for nature-based education and the benefits of outdoor learning.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

  • Ability to create and deliver engaging and differentiated instruction that meets the diverse needs of early elementary students

  • Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all types of weather (heat, cold, wind, rain, etc)

  • Must be creative, responsible, organized, and be able to work on their own and in small teams with little oversight.​​

We are offering a competitive starting salary of $35k/yr plus our benefits package, which includes employer sponsored health and dental insurance, paid time off, yearly bonuses, a supportive work environment, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives. If space is available, your child may accompany you to our program at a 50% discount (one scholarship max).
